In this role you will support Engineering, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing by providing 3D CAD models using both Solid and Advanced Surface Modeling techniques. We are looking for someone who can maintain a strong emphasis on following Trek’s Product Development Process (PDP) while developing, implementing, and applying tools that allow for lead-time reductions in our process.
Mechanical CAD Designer | Taichung City, Taiwan
We are currently seeking an experienced CAD designer to join our Taiwan team. The primary responsibility is supporting Trek Engineering and Industrial Design in the USA, Europe and Asia to create world changing new bicycle products for consumers and our race teams. You will spend 90% of your time focusing only on 3D and 2D, using Solidworks, to support the projects of Design Engineers.
Responsibilities:
Create, refine, rebuild, and lead organic shaped 3D CAD models with an elevated level of advanced surfacing for bicycling products. Models may be built from hand sketches, verbal direction or by modifying existing 3D solid/surface models.Produce highly detailed CAD documentation using Onshape for internal and external review.Support the design and development needs of Engineering and Industrial DesignInternal use of systems (CAD, PDM, and other computer applications)Optimally balance multiple projects, responsibilities, and tasks with a focus on meeting customer completion dates.Technical Requirements:
Two years technical degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent.Two years minimum experience working with 3D CAD modeling software or equivalent.2D CAD skills – Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Degree in Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, or a related field with an emphasis on Advanced 3D CAD Surface modeling.Experience working with Onshape software including complex solid & surface modeling skills.High level Advanced 3D CAD Surfacing; consumer centered design, Class A surfacing preferred.The ability to translate design intent into a 3D CAD model.Excellent verbal and written communication skills -able to interact effectively with domestic and international teammates and proactively initiate communications.Demeanor that fosters continuous improvement and flexibilityProficient planning and organization skills, initiative, accountability, and meticulous.Proficient computer database, spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing abilitiesOther tools would be a plus: Rhino, Grasshopper, Keyshot, VR/AR tools, Illustrator, and other rendering packages.We are open to the consideration of this designer being located around Santa Clarita, CA area, where we have an engineering office.Please share a portfolio or work samples with your resume.Required to Fit our Culture:
