Responsibilities

The role of our Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineers is to ensure that building services systems are, will be or have been commissioned properly and in accordance with the relevant requirements.

Ensuring that our commitments to our clients are met on time and to the required level of detail and qualityManaging the mechanical commissioning processValidating the mechanical commissioning process and ensuring that the results achieved are in line with requirementsInspecting existing systems to determine their performanceAdvise on mechanical commissioning and performance requirements, commissioning strategies, programs, scopes of work and the likeCarrying out measurements, surveys and other technical inspectionsCollaborate with other members of the organization to improve existing systems and proceduresActing as a champion in an area of particular technical interestPromote the company and the whole group through marketing activitiesForward planning of equipment required for testingAssisting in the preparation of tender documentsAccurate completion of timesheets on a weekly basisProactively assisting other staff in the performance of their work

Responsibilities

Acting safely at all times in accordance with the company's health and safety policies and proceduresWork diligently, efficiently and professionally at all timesEnsuring technical compliance and high quality production of our productsWorking closely with the main contractor's team to develop commissioning strategies and processes that fully meet the project objectivesFully adopt the company's project and internal management systemsMaintain a keen awareness of project finances and control of related expenditureAttend meetings as requiredProduce internal and client reports that include technical, commercial and programmatic aspectsDevelopment of project specific management/validation documents and procedures for commissioningTechnical commentary on drawings, manuals and technical submissionsDevelopment of project-specific procedural instructions, test scripts and the likeAwareness and internal reporting of project scope changesWorking with other members of a professional team to assess progress, difficulties and costsPerform hands-on commissioning work as required #LI-MW4Preferred QualificationsBEng Mechanical Engineering with Building Services and/or; MEng Electronic Electrical Engineering with Building Services.Considerable experience will be sought to demonstrate project management skills.Additional Modules Considered Useful: Construction Contract Law, Construction Project Management, Building Services Engineering, Environmental System Design, Lighting Design, Energy in Buildings, Time Management and Presentation courses.Member of CIBSE, ASHRAE or equivalent professional qualifications an advantage.At least 5-10 years of experience in a project management/commissioning management role in a building orientated company in the building types Commercial, Residential, Life Science, Health Care.Worked within company Quality Environmental policies and procedures.IT Literate – MS Office package.Required QualificationsMust be willing to travel every week and as long as necessary; duration and frequency of travel will depend on HDR needsMust be an experienced engineer or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the TB process, etcMust have good computer skills and effective typing skillsUnderstanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project softwareAbility and interest in working with othersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBe familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design construction servicesStrong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operationsUnderstanding of project accounting and financial management toolsAbility to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrentlyAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
