We are currently in the market to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a variety of work in the Nuclear industry.
About The Team:
Our Mechanical Engineering team consists of Engineers and designers providing Design and Documentation and support for the manufacture and installation of key Nuclear decommissioning projects.
This department is expanding, and the current and future workload provides challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork to help us meet our clients’ needs.
About You:
You will be an aspiring Engineer, with some experience in producing technical outputs such as manufacturing drawings with an understanding of design and manufacturing processes.
You will be able to provide engineering design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping ISOs.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills and with support from the team be able to contribute to technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions.

Your Responsibilities
· You will work to achieve positive outcomes for the projects.
· You will work closely with Senior and Principal Engineers and other stakeholders supporting project delivery and mechanical design tasks.
· Ability to understand technical drawings with AutoCAD and/or Inventor experience.
· Contributing to the production of Manufacturing Drawings and 3D CAD Models.
· With support from the team, you will assist in the preparation of mechanical design deliverables including scoping calculations, reports, specifications, datasheets, drawings, schedules.
· Providing support to allow the project team to comply with the duties of Designer under CDM including the production of design risk assessments.
· A good technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
· Nuclear Industry experience will be a significant advantage.
· The ability to travel and visit operational and construction sites as required, to act in a safe manner, and to asset survey, inspect, and witness test mechanical equipment and installations.
· Knowledge of design tools and software such as AutoCAD/Inventor / Mathcad or similar design packages would be an advantage but is not essential.
Qualifications
GCSE & A Levels HND/HNC and working towards a degree or equivalent.
