 Summary/Objective

Performs a wide variety of mechanical engineering design tasks which require basic knowledge of engineering theory and principles to determine design solutions for mechanical packaging of electronic, electromechanical and optical equipment / systems. Tasks require knowledge of Computer Aided Design, CAD, tools and documentation techniques like 3d modeling and drawings.

Job Responsibilities Individual contributor working under direction of technical leadership with minimal expected self-direction on complex military and government contracts. Improve depth of product domain knowledge. Plan, analyze, design, test and document hardware of low complexity under the guidance of a more senior engineer. Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, industry and military standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME, IEEE, MIL-STD, etc.), utilizing internal processes and tools, and soliciting vendor information. Contribute to engineering estimates on hardware designs. May provide Material Review Board analysis and disposition of DataPath and/or supplier products. Utilizes company CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools and Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) software to create and store CAD models, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and vendor data sheets. Collaborates on, and writes, Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, CDRL/SDRL deliverables, and other technical documentation. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests from internal and external stakeholders. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. Protects company IP and technical data from unauthorized disclosure; complies with ITAR regulations. Supports new product proposals as required. Supervisory Responsibility No direct supervisory responsibility of others. Travel Occasional travel may be required.
