Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and develop prototype models and methods to validate design concepts and final designs, including required supporting engineering calculations. You will validate designs with team members, approve design changes, and report progress and unusual project occurrences to the Engineering Manager or Project Engineer. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, production, vendors, and contractors regarding various aspects of product design projects. Additionally, you will interact with all company support departments to resolve manufacturing problems, improve product quality, and ease manufacturing. You will stay abreast of technological developments and opportunities in the field to assist with incorporating design innovations. You will also visit customer sites and contractors to validate product design specifications and resolve product problems. Preparing project time reports and performing other related duties as assigned are also part of your responsibilities.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop prototype models and methods to validate design concepts and final designs, including required supporting engineering calculations.Validate designs with team members and approve design changes.Report progress and unusual project occurrences to the Engineering Manager or Project Engineer.Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, production, vendors, and contractors regarding various aspects of product design projects.Interact with all company support departments to resolve manufacturing problems and improve product quality and ease of manufacturing.Keep abreast of technological developments and opportunities in the field to assist with incorporating design innovations.Visit customer sites and contractors to validate product design specifications and resolve product problems.Prepare project time reports as scheduled.Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree.7+ years of engineering experience.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Effective communication skills - verbal and written.Open/creative thinker; is an ideas generator.Self-starter, organized and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.Self-directed and able to establish own priorities to meet the needs of the organization.Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.Ability to prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software and support design with calculations using MathCAD software.Strong understanding of geometric tolerance techniques based on ANSI Y14.5M-1994.Additional Skills & QualificationsBSME in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.Mechanical valve with fluid design experience.Aerospace experience, mechanical design.Fluid handling device engineering (valves, pumps, etc.) is a plus.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00
