Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Start date: ASAP - Subject to clearance
Duration: 12 months
Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: £48-£55/HR Umbrella - £36.31-£41.53 PAYE
Location: Glasgow (Other locations available Bristol/Warrington)
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Role information:
- Liaise with customers and suppliers on design issues
- Assist with procurement specifications
- Ensure correct procedures, codes and standards are applied and adhered to
- Contribute to the product safety assessment process
- Undertake technical investigations to identify and resolve issues and identify potential design improvements
- Produce documentation is support of tasks and projects
- Produce, review and verify calculations, technical reports, specifications and method statements
- Ensure tasks are delivered to time, quality and cost requirements
- Monitor junior team members
- Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to

Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Engineering degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Experience in working alongside multi-discipline teams
- Experience in a range of commercial or defense projects
- Experience in using either Solidworks, Inventor or CAD Design Software
- Chartered status or working towards (desirable)
- Member of relevant institute (Desirable)
