Job Summary:
TTi is looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Advanced Engineering team. This entry-level role is your opportunity to work hands-on in designing and developing innovative concepts for new and mature products. You’ll create designs that make our power tools more compact, more powerful, and more efficient—all while collaborating with talented engineers and bringing bold ideas to life.
Located at TTi’s state-of-the-art Greenville campus, this role offers the chance to work at the cutting edge of product development, from concept design to functional prototypes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and innovate: Create components and assemblies that fulfill market-driven design guides, balancing cost, timing, reliability, and manufacturability.Analyze and optimize: Use simulation such as FEA and CFD in a high-performance computing environment to optimize your designs.Hands-on prototyping: Build and test functional prototypes to validate your designs and concepts.Collaborate and communicate: Work with cross-functional teams, including electrical and motors engineers and material scientists to bring designs from concept to reality.What We’re Looking For:
Education: B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (M.S. is a plus but not required).Technical skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (NX, SolidWorks preferred) with a basic understanding of mechanism design – such as bearings, shafts, gears, components, and assemblies, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in these areas.Hands-on experience: Exposure to prototype development and a basic understanding of strength of materials.Bonus points: Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, stamping), and basic dynamics or FEA is a plus.Mindset: Passion for design, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to tackle engineering challenges head-on.Why Join TTi?
