Job Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating, detailing, developing, and modifying models for the heavy-duty industrial conveyor market. You will prepare drawings and technical documents for conveyor fabrication and installation. You will work under the supervision of fellow Project Engineers and Project Engineers.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and develop 3D models (parts and assemblies) using CAD software.Detail drawings of basic 3D models (parts and assemblies) using industry-standard notations for machining notes and weld symbols.Perform basic engineering calculations for components in shear, bending, and torsion.Learn the various processes of the Project Engineering team and seek out ways to improve these processes.Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Engineers in developing concepts and solving design issues.Become familiar with various manufacturing methods within the industry.Demonstrate increasing proficiency in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software.Fulfill any other tasks assigned by the business.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.Experience in mechanical design and 3D design.Familiarity with mechanical and manufacturing design.Ability to detail fabrication and layout design.Experience with Inventor software.Strong understanding of PDM systems.Ability to manage large 3D CAD assemblies.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.5 years of experience in 3D mechanical design in a manufacturing setting.Experience in steel and structural design of components.Experience with Vault or PDM systems.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
