Your role and responsibilities

The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid We are now looking for a new Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in ABB Oy, IEC LV Motors in Vaasa. In this role you will be focusing on customized customer specific designs and your skills and technical expertise will contribute to a variety of customer projects. This includes 3D modelling, drawings, calculations, bill of materials, engineering instructions and processes. You will also work closely together with customers and internal stakeholders. We offer you a challenging position in an order-focused, highly skilled engineering team, responsible for the on-time design of customer-specific IEC low voltage motors.You will be mainly accountable for:• Mechanical design of customer-specific, low voltage induction motors • Creating order-specific documentation • Collaboration with electrical engineers, the factory organization, global sales and other stakeholders • Providing post order technical support when needed• Supporting the team in other tasks, such as providing training to entry-level team members

Qualifications for the role

B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree in Mechanical engineering or similarKnowledge of mechanical engineering and tools such as CAD Familiarity with MS Office and SAP Customer oriented personality, team player with the ability to make quick decisions A collaborative and solution-focused approach to workExcellent Finnish and English, both written and spoken Experience in electric drive systems and electric motors is seen as a benefit Industrial application knowledge is seen as a benefit
