Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for creating and maintaining custom mechanical machinery designs. This role supports all phases of design through manufacturing, including installation, warranty, and post-warranty phases. The engineer interfaces with suppliers and serves as the customer-facing representative for mechanical engineering, developing specifications for custom equipment and part tooling using SolidWorks.
ResponsibilitiesGenerate complete machine concepts and provide detailed conceptual equipment designs both internally and to customers.Serve as the customer-facing representative for Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.Generate quotes for equipment, including custom equipment and concepts.Design all aspects of custom equipment systems, including automation, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and time & motion studies.Manage mechanical upgrades and changes for equipment and facilities.Support the design, development, and review of division processes (SOP).Drive change processes with active feedback from customers, assemblers, and field service personnel.Manage continuous improvement projects related to cost reduction, workflow, product development, and manufacturing/assembly methods.Monitor project cost versus budget and execution versus timeline milestones.Participate in customer equipment diagnostics and repair.Support warranty processes and resolutions with vendors.Ability to travel up to 5%, including international travel.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.5+ years of experience in Engineering related to the design and manufacture of custom equipment.Experience with standard fabrication methods.Experience with Time & Motion studies.Ability to write sequences of operations for controls engineering and automation.Hydraulic/Pneumatic and/or light industrial electrical experience required.SolidWorks/Inventor experience.Work Environment
The work environment consists of a standard office space attached to the manufacturing area. The company offers a hybrid schedule, allowing three days remote work and two days onsite. You will be part of a laid-back and friendly team.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
