Mechanical Design Engineer Analyst
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Analyst in Dematic’s Global Project Engineering organization, you will gather critical project information (building/joist design, Dematic system design, and project/customer requirements) to create header steel support solutions to hang the automation system from the building/support structure, on-time, and on-budget, while upholding critical checks and balances from the project team and customer.
This will require designing the header steel support solution into Dematic’s cad software to determine point loads, create and verify BOMs, and create installation drawings of the solution. Header steel solutions can range from a simple, single-line conveyor path to more complex, multi-line and multi-level conveyor and catwalk systems.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is what you will do in This Role:

Design header steel support solutions for hanging mechanical equipment from the customer’s building within Dematic’s cad system.

Prepare and deliver load analysis, accurate Bill of Materials, and installation drawings to the project execution team.

Track and provide input/feedback on header steel schedule and deliverables.

Ensure OTD while design and creating mechanical Drawings such as: Header Steel (Structural Elements) Layouts, Composites, Safety, Pneumatic, Guarding, Netting, etc. 

Performs Quality Audit, cross audits and revisions to peers and/or less experienced engineers deliverables.

Communicates and track progress status and roadblocks in a properly manner to peers, project leads and direct manager.

Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.

Document findings and/or results achieved according to dematic standards such as: Best Practices, Standard Work Packages (Procedures Step by Step), New processes, application guidelines, and manuals.

Share Created documents with less Experience engineers on forums such as but not limited to: Trainings, Spreadsheets, Manuals and others.

Travel on site might be required. Low but feasible opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfill the work requirements. Using prescribed guidelines and policies

What we are looking for:

Bachelor degree - Mechanical or Civil Engineering or any other related to Mechanical Design field

Background in Material Handling/Automation industry, preferred.

2-5 years of successful experience in related field

Applied knowledge of CAD software (AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.) and Technical drawings

Applied knowledge of Inventor software and or Structural Design.

Effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. (Finite Element Analysis)
