Mechanical Design Engineer III
Job Description The Mechanical Design Engineer III designs and develops innovative solutions to business problems utilizing CAD software, finite-element analysis, materials analysis, 3D Printing, Lean Six Sigma, or other mechanical engineering skills. Responsibilities * Aid in the development, fabrication, and testing of mechanical designs. * Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements. * Test system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods. * Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, hydraulics, and heat transfer. * Other duties, as assigned. * Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals. * Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment. * Meet and communicate with Senior Leadership and external customers to provide updates, seek direction, give presentations, communicate success barriers, and showcase project results. * Mentor junior engineers. * Clearly define and manage project success metrics on an ongoing basis even after the completion of projects. * Perform research into innovative design, operation, and product performance. * Serve as technical support for advanced mechanical systems. * Review and approve cost estimates and design calculations. * Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, not to exclude full risk assessment and recommendations for adjustment of priorities as needed. * Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. * Work with internal and external partners, manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors. Requirements Education: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering, required * Master's Degree MS in Mechanical Engineering, preferred Experience: * 4 years experience as Mechanical Engineer or other related field * Strong SolidWorks skills * Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical drive systems, required 3D Printing and some programming experience, preferred Computer Skills: * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Compensation: * This is a salary position paid biweekly.
