You will be the Mechanical Engineer for the ATWS program team. Our team is responsible for designing and developing precision mechanical and opto-mechanical hardware, driving innovation in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating cutting-edge mechanical designs, analyzing tolerances, and performing trade studies to push the boundaries of what's possible. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working closely with cross-functional disciplines to ensure producibility and affordability.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Conceptual and detailed mechanical design of prototype, production, and test hardware
• Tolerance analyses and trade studies to optimize design performance
• Creation and release of 2D and 3D engineering documentation
• Coordination with other engineering and production disciplines for change notices and drawing revisions
• Support for system and subassembly level test planning and execution
• Production nonconformance MRB disposition and coordination with outside suppliers
• Presentations at internal and external customer reviews, including IPT meetings, PDRs, CDRs, and DARs

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering is required.
• Experience with CREO (Pro/Engineer) and PTC Windchill is required.
• Experience with creating engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 is required.
• Basic understanding interpreting and developing GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
• Basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills are required.
• Needs ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance. US citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Previous precision mechanical or opto-mechanical experience is highly desirable.
• Previous casting or metal AM experience is highly desirable.
• Previous MRB experience in a production setting is desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable.
• Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is desirable.
• Experience with lab and flight integration and test support is desirable.
• Occasional overtime may be required to satisfy schedule requirements.
• Experience on SAR programs/contracts is desirable.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
