Position Summary
A Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating and designing mechanical systems, products, or components using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop innovative and efficient designs, ensuring functionality, safety, and adherence to industry standards. Mechanical Designers create detailed drawings, perform calculations, and conduct simulations to test and validate designs. They may also assist in prototype development, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Strong technical skills, creativity, attention to detail, and knowledge of engineering principles are essential for success in this role. Essential Responsibilities
• Assist Mechanical and Electrical Engineering efforts in product development process.
• Create basic design drawings with assistance.
• Create documentation to support assembly.
• Gain familiarity with strengths of materials, steel and copper.
• Gain familiarity with industry codes and standards.
• Gain familiarity with electrical design.
• Strive to keep current on the 'state of the art' in design specialty through periodicals, trade magazines, and continuing education.
• Learn policies and procedures, work instruction, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and vendor products
Minimum Qualifications
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic drafting/CAD skills, Intermediate Inventor skills, or 3D CAD software required.
Preferred Qualifications
*Three to six years of design experience in a manufacturing and/or field application environment
*Advanced drafting, CAD skills, Inventor, or 3D CAD software experience
