Mechanical Designer
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Create CAD models, related drawings, and bills of material to provide specifications for customer orders and development requirements. Complete tasks independently on standard designs. Conduct investigations, perform standard calculations, and run tests to support product decisions. Attain cost targets for newly designed assemblies. Review current designs or specific components for cost reduction. Meet with suppliers and sub-contractors regarding product requirements. Interact directly with the sales organization about machine specifications and field issues. Provide technical assistance and liaison with manufacturing.

Hard Skills3D Drafting experience - Solidworks or InventorAS in Drafting or Design is a must have.AutoCADJob Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Abingdon, Virginia.

Work Environment

Office setting with Drafters/Designers. Manufacturing partner on site. Engineering group with two total teams: one focused on underground mining equipment for North America, and the other on new product development. The team consists of 14 total engineers. Heavy fabrication plant with large assemblies and extensive customization.
