The Mechanical Designer will lead New Product Development (NPD) and/or Continuous Support projects that require expertise in injection mold and/or refrigeration design. The role involves designing parts or systems, generating and executing design validation test plans, and collaborating with multifunctional teams to implement new or updated products into production. The ideal candidate will be proactive and drive projects to completion with urgency.
ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to drive projects through shortened CI process or full NPD tollgate process into production.Apply principles of Physics and Engineering to solve design challenges.Develop a strong understanding of the principles and functionality of our refrigerated equipment.Lead DFMEA analysis of sub-systems or analysis for component replacement or redesign.Select, specify, and apply critical components. Source parts and make tooling changes as needed.Support production issues for FCB, Juice, and Ice product lines.Administer test programs for Reliability, Design Validation, Performance Evaluation, and Component Selection.Utilize SolidWorks/Creo for CAD design, create detailed drawings, and execute change control (PCR/PCN process) through Windchill.Work independently with limited oversight on multiple projects.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in a plastic injection mold-based setting.Experience creating detailed drawings.Extensive experience with either Creo or SolidWorks for design-related activities.Experience working on change control.Ability to document manuals and complete minor corrective improvements.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's Degree or CAD Certification.Experience in refrigeration, chiller, or HVAC.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.85 - $48.00
