Job Description
The Drafting Detailer role involves creating 2D and 3D detail and general arrangement drawings. Responsibilities include compiling necessary design and layout information into engineering drawings that serve suppliers in creating fabrication drawings, as well as the creation of fabrication/field erection drawings. This role requires the ability to alternate between responsibilities to address peak loads in backlog.
ResponsibilitiesRevise existing company Design Standards and Guideline drawings.Create new company Design Standards and Guideline drawings as applicable.Create and revise current ACAD company Design Standards and Guideline templates.Plan, prepare, and check detail drawings of HRSG components using information from multiple sources.Data entry of HRSG casing and coil design information into a database exchange XML format to support the creation of fabrication drawings.Determine applicable standards and confirm that details/designs are in accordance with standards/guidelines and customer specifications.Collaborate with the Structural Engineering department or other Drafting disciplines to resolve layout challenges.Coordinate with the Layout Designer Coordinator and Structural Engineer to maximize constructability of field erected equipment.Ensure all internal departments, external customers, and fabrication subcontractors have the most current design information through the use of the document management system and other tools as necessary.Document the status of assigned project deliverables through routine updates of project status reports and company schedules.Essential SkillsProficient in Autodesk Inventor.Working knowledge of AISC, and other international standard structural shapes and AWS weld symbols.Proficient in Bentley MicroStation / Autodesk AutoCAD platforms.Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and standard Office Suite applications.Experience in both 2D and 3D CAD design with the ability to create engineering and fabrication drawings.Ability to work in a team setting and adapt to ever-evolving project and procedural changes.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical or vocational school education; Junior college/two-year college training, certificate is acceptable, degree is preferred.Minimum of 1-3 years of CAD design experience, including school.Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment with a large 'pit' area where over 50 'detailers' sit. Candidates must take an AutoCAD test, where they will be required to replicate a given drawing using AutoCAD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
