Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, works in an industrial setting on the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment along with understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. Checks engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools to fulfil preventive maintenance requirements. Applies troubleshooting techniques of plant electrical systems and Programable Logic Controls, motors, drives and relays. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts. Attends educational workshops; reviews technical publications; establishes personal networks to maintain technical knowledge. Communicates with the supervisors to build positive working relationship with others and to ensure efficient operations. Leads and promotes health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy. Performs other duties as they might be assigned. Requires regular, fulltime, predictable onsite attendance per scheduled shift assignmentEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School or GED; Tech or Trade School in a related field preferred. Must become certified for inhouse Crane, Fork Truck operation, and other lift and/or mobile equipment Some welding experience, experience in a manufacturing environment preferredKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
Understanding of functionality of equipment and machinery within the plant by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions. Mechanical and Electrical aptitude Ability to stand for 10-12 hours Ability to follow written/verbal instructions, familiarity with Microsoft office applications Ability to lift 50 lbs.Job Footer (US)
