Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Austin TX.

Reporting to the Automation Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing, validating, and implementing innovative and cost-effective product solutions of complex scope to support the organization in prototype development through full-scale production.

What a typical day looks like:

Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling of automated equipment and developing new material applications.Tolerance Management experienced in tolerance stack-up analysis for design accuracy.Skilled in creating and managing bills of materials and sourcing parts.Interacts with customers on industrial robots to meet their needs.Analyzes product failures to identify root causes and develop solutions.Conducts and supervises tests to ensure product quality.Designs and oversees manufacturing processes to maintain integrity.Defines techniques for constructing and joining materials.Assesses technical specifications and costs for design alignment.Monitors material performance and deterioration.Reviews product plans and recommends suitable materials.Conducts training on new materials and manufacturing methods for customers.Plans and evaluates projects in collaboration with engineers and executives.Oversees technologists, technicians, and engineers to ensure project success.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering3+ experience Mechanical DesignSolidWorks, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification (preferred) Electronic Assembly, Materials, Processes Standards  Advanced mathematical concepts, and apply mathematical operations to analyze and ensure the robustness of assigned designs Advanced mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
