Program Summary

KBR is seeking a highly motivated self-starter, adaptable to a fast-paced exciting environment as a mechanical engineer, to support or lead sustainment engineering efforts of the F-16 horizontal tail redesign.

 

Job Description

This position will support our Hill AFB customers by resolving mechanical sustainment issues. Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations, and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.

 

Job tasks may include:

Creating models and drawings in SolidWorks using AMSE Y14 standardsANSYS simulationsSupporting or leading engineering tasksWriting and reviewing technical documentation for installation, testing, or summary reports for engineering deliverablesWorking in lab space for fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products

 

Required Education/Experience

Prior experience with an Air Force Program Office is a plus.This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related degree) from an ABET accredited school.The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills.U.S. CitizenMust have the ability to obtain a clearance

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Certified as Licensed/Chartered Professional EngineerSolidWorks certificationsCertified in ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis softwareFamiliarity with Air Force systemsExperience leading projectsExperience leading technical meetings with customersFamiliarity with Model Based Systems Engineering practices
