Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer role responsible for root cause analysis, condition assessment, and capital project support for power plant mechanical systems and equipment.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant engineering or closely related fields
NYS Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Experience with material testing and failure analysis
Experience inspecting piping and structural installations
Proficiency in welding technologies and repair welding procedure development
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including:
National Board Codes
ASME Sections I, II, V, VIII, IX, and B31.1
API 650 and API 653
Experience with power generation equipment and support systems
Background in project cost/benefit and risk analysis
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to work in a power plant environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience conducting mechanical root cause failure analyses and implementing corrective actions
Experience managing condition assessments of high-energy piping, boiler components, pressure vessels, and mechanical systems
Experience serving as project engineer and/or project manager on capital equipment upgrade projects
Experience developing mechanical specifications, standards, and procedures
Experience performing field surveys to support design development and verify as-built conditions
Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting field installations
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct mechanical root cause failure analyses and recommend corrective actions for plant equipment and systems
Manage and perform condition assessments of high-energy piping, boiler components, pressure vessels, and mechanical systems
Apply mechanical analysis techniques to evaluate system performance and reliability
Serve as project engineer and/or project manager for capital equipment upgrade and improvement projects
Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams and troubleshoot field installations
Perform engineering calculations in compliance with current codes and industry standards
Develop and maintain mechanical specifications, standards, and procedures
Prepare material and service cost estimates to support projects and maintenance planning
Conduct field surveys to support design development and verify as-built conditions for documentation and future work
Pay: 150k-170k
