HDR is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in either Charlotte, Raleigh, or Atlanta. In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate workload to complete the document on scheduleConduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesReview mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit mechanical specifications, selects equipment, mechanical systems and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededLI-SM1
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsPE licenseExperience in commercial or institutional facilitiesComputer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsMaster's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasisHealthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not requiredLocal candidates are preferredWhy HDR
