Our client, a leader in injection machinery, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating mechanical designs within the constraints determined by the given project, time, cost, and performance.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Estimating engineering hours required for a project

- Mechanical design using SolidWorks (3D CAD Design, mechae. nical detailing, dimensioning, & tolerances, and following drawing procedures).

- Coordinates electrical design with Electrical Engineer

- Machine documentation, including bill of materials

- Project checking; Manufacturing assembly support; Project reporting and documentation.

- Knowledge of Electrical design (electrical enclosure layout and design, understanding of electrical schematics)

- Knowledge of PLC programming (create operating sequence for machines)

- Hydraulic design (design and troubleshoot hydraulics)

- Pneumatic design (design and troubleshoot pneumatics)

- Coordinates all documentation including shop manuals, customer manuals, engineering manuals

- Support and troubleshoot engineering issues with assembly technicians. Be available to answer questions and provide support to the foreman and/or assembly technicians.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience: 3+ years of related experience.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of mechanical design, drawing practices, geometric tolerances, and dimensioning in regard to machine tool design.Proficiency in software such as Excel, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Windows.Familiarity with PLCs or Electrical Packaging is preferred.OEM Machine experience would be ideal.Industry Experience: Experience in the aerospace and automotive industries is a plus.About Actalent
