Mechanical Engineer Job Number: 352098 Category: Mechanical Engineering Description: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Pay Rate: Starting at $43.42/hr Location: Chillicothe, IL ZIP Code: 61523 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Keywords: #MechanicalEngineer #EngineeringJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work with the power conversion application engineering groups to establish the application architecture and electrical requirements for power electronics components/systems * Work with MBDs NPI & NTI machine/product programs * Develop design concepts and detailed 3D models for low voltage power electronics inverter and converter systems. * Collaboration with the Cat India team for mechanical design and the release of prints. * Play an active role in supplier collaboration and selection and development of the potential suppliers for the mechanical designs * Some limited travel will be required. * Identify and work with other SMEs on aspects of the design in which team does not have the expertise to complete on their own. * Stay up to date with the latest advances in power electronics packaging technologies and solutions REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: * Associate"s degree in related field plus minimum 10 years experience OR * Bachelor"s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Mechanical Engineering curriculum plus 5+ years of experience OR * Master's or Doctorate degree in a Mechanical Engineering curriculum plus 2+ years of experience * Previous product development experience (design / analysis) * Strong communication skills * Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills * Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments * Excellent analytical skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience with CFD & FEA analysis tools * Demonstrated understanding of mechanical & electrical systems with special emphasis on electric drive systems * Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP, BIQ & PPAP * Experience with NPI Issue resolution process Benefits: * Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available. * On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
