We are seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer who will specialize in product design and development, prototyping, packaging, documentation and sustaining engineering that support both the most cost-effective production and the highest quality delivery of products to customers.
Candidates for this position will be considered in both the Maspeth, NY and Berlin, CT area. If the successful candidate resides in the greater Berlin, CT area they will be required to work in-person at the Maspeth, NY office for a minimum of 50% of their work week for the first six months of employment, and on a frequent basis thereafter. The company will provide lodging so daily commuting is not necessary.
Responsibilities:
Willingness to work all projects to closure and make the team successful no matter what it takes Aptitude for creative approaches to efficiency gains in engineering support Develop design improvements that reduce cost and or improve performance Populate and release Engineering Change Notices Prepare and populate product BOM in ERP system Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs Ad hoc projects and assignments as needed
Requirements:
Experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field Proficiency in Solidworks, MS Office, PDM and ERP systems Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve engineering challenges Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results Excellent teamwork skillsWe review applications regularly, so don’t hesitate, apply today!

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At ASSA ABLOY it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
