Mechanical Engineer

Rite-Solutions, Inc., is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to support on-site in Newport, RI. This work supports Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Code 34 Periscope & Imaging In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).\n

Position Responsibilities: \n\nDesign, create and communicate requirements for Technical Data Packages (TDP).\nReview, analyze, and effectively provide feedback for schematics, diagrams, and requirements for Technical Data Packages (TDP).\nDevelop test plans, test readiness evaluations, hardware installation, and troubleshooting recommendations.\nAssist in the analysis of Government Furnished Information (GFI).\n\n\nPerform Trade Studies of mil-spec and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) materials.\nWork closely with other mechanical, systems & electrical engineers to deliver fully functional solutions.\nConduct and actively participate in cross-discipline design reviews.\nCollaborate with various stakeholders (Navy, government civilians, OEM, sub-contractors, etc.).\nIndependently execute system engineering lifecycle analysis and reports.\nAdapt appropriately to changes in program priorities and requirements.\nSupport and submit Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) by conducting requirements analysis, problem\/deficiency reporting, researching technical solutions, identifying form fit function replacements, and recommending courses of action.\nContinue to expand depth\/knowledge in technical disciplines through formal and informal learning. \nIntegrate, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic hardware associated with Submarine Imaging Systems.\nDevelop, implement, and test changes to the RF systems and associated test equipment and instrumentation.\nProvide recommendations for process improvements to existing Submarine Imaging Systems and operational processes.\nDevelop program status reports such as technical assessments, risk assessments, technical recommendations or technical information.\n\n

Skills\n\nHighly organized, capable of approaching problems with a system-level perspective\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nPractical experience with the systems engineering process.\nFamiliarity with electro-optical systems, i.e. cameras, lasers, and related equipment.\nFamiliarity with RF test equipment and systems, ideally involving antennas, amplifiers, filters, and signal distribution.\nFamiliarity in electro-mechanical systems, i.e. motors, gyros, and synchros using control systems.\n\n\nAbility to effectively work independently and\/or within a multi-disciplinary team.\n\n\nAbility to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.\n\n

Requirements \n\nBachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline and\/or applicable Navy experience.\nOne to two years' experience in Optical, Electrical, or Electronics systems.\nCandidate must be familiar with and demonstrate a basic knowledge of general-purpose and RF laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.\nTechnical Writing skills are required.\nWorking experience with electrical and mechanical CAD software's such as Altium Designer, LTspice, OrCAD and SolidWorks 2021\n\n\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\n\n\nPosition requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance with the US Government.\n\n

Additional Skills of Interest (not required): \n\nActive Secret Security Clearance\nExperience with PCB design\nProficiency in MATLAB \nProficiency in Linux-based systems \nProficiency in VISIO or similar engineering-oriented documentation applications \n\n
