We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer to join our Newark, Bellevue team. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to area issues that are impacting production. In this role the engineer provides technical expertise which may be equipment based or repair technique based which impacts the availability and maintainability of the unit. Interfaces with plant reliability engineering, process engineer and maintenance team to implement systems-based efforts in respective areas and implement long term improvements. Provides coaching and mentorship to process engineers.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Serves as a subject matter expert in manufacturing equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations. Provides technical expertise to Unit personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.Leads/participates in downtime related RCIs.For equipment that is critical for the process ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc. and if necessary, provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data.Ensures troubleshooting guides are created as appropriate and kept up to date.Provides maintainability input to capital project process.Support PSM elements as applicable.During development of turnaround, work provides input on development of work orders particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.Reliability reviewer on minor capital projectsLeads unit level OEE programs and participates in OEE reviews.Provides deeper level understanding of MTBF and improvement pan.Works cross functionally to support continuous improvement efforts.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (manufacturing, reliability, engineering, etc.)The ability to solve problems and prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with operations, maintenance, and other functional groups.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead through influence; able to take a "hands-on" approach with operators, technicians, and engineers to drive change and get results.Preferred Qualifications:
