Your Opportunity

We are seeking Intermediate Mechanical Engineers to work exclusively on a high security nuclear energy program in Atlantic Canada.

In this role you will support our culture of external client service, build your technical strength in understanding and anticipating client needs, execute strategies to advance the Client’s project program objectives, manage risk, establish priorities, and resolve emergent problems.

Working directly with the Client on this program, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the design for small to large scale projects.   The primary work location is Client-owned industrial work site near Saint John, New Brunswick (with frequent requirements to work on site). This position is permanent full-time for the duration of this project.

Individuals will be required to work in an office setting and perform site walkdowns in a noisy environment with occasional requirements to work at heights.

Successful candidates will be trained on and required to adhere to the Client’s site safety, clearance requirements, and quality assurance program.

Successful candidates must be able to obtain Site Access Security Clearance (Level 1) through Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and meet the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations Hi10 CFR 810 Appendix A.

Your Key Responsibilities Mechanical engineers with a preference on piping systems but experience in a broad range of work will be considered. Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Utilizes technologies in development of models of mechanical systems and provides markups. Prepares and revises documentation in various mechanical scopes Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with related documents. Conducts quality assurance and quality control. Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects. Oversees and manages multiple projects. Work within Client's quality control guidelines. Become a champion of the safety program, with a focus on safety in the field. Project tracking/monitoring – budget and schedule with the help of project control personnel. Manage and execute mechanical engineering deliverables on multiple projects in a dynamic work environment. Support design with constructability in mind. Supervise and stamp engineering documents and drawings as required. Prepare and/or review/approve mechanical equipment specifications, datasheets and procurement support documents. Perform and/or review/approve engineering calculations. Consideration of Clients’ standards as part of design. Your Capabilities and Credentials Understanding and prioritization of safety and quality processes and culture.   Self-starter, skilled in navigating engineering design concerns and developing project scope documents, technical requirements, reports, and quality reviews. Participate and collaborate in a project team setting to engage in creative and critical thought. Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production. Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule. Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems. Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others. Knowledge of and ability to use standard computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to write clear, thorough technical reports. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple jobs/projects. Excellent organizational skills. Education and Experience Bachelor or Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  Minimum of 5 years of experience working on engineering design projects. Registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng) in with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB).
