Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing and developing mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SolidWorks, automation, and pneumatic design, as well as experience working with vendors and negotiating pricing for mechanical components.
ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks (current version 2017)Create detailed drawings, BOMs, individual part drawings with appropriate tolerances, sheet metal drawings, and weld calloutsDevelop assembly drawings, system layout, and installation drawingsDesign pneumatic systems, including valve selection, manifold selection, filter/regulator sizing, and pneumatic schematicsSelect and work with vendors to purchase mechanical components and negotiate pricing and deliveryWork with robots, including sizing, reach, end effector mounting, and cable solutionsLead mechanical design meetings, including concept reviews, customer kickoffs, internal design reviews, and customer final reviewsCoordinate electrical design and controls handoff, as well as shop assembly handoffVisit customer sites to evaluate new projects and create concept drawings to support salesUtilize Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, for project management and communicationEssential Skills3-5 years of experience designing in SolidWorks (current version 2017)3-5 years of experience in automationExperience creating detail drawings, BOMs, and individual part drawingsPneumatic design experience, including valve selection, manifold selection, filter/regulator sizing, and pneumatic schematicsExperience with robot sizing, reach, end effector mounting, and cable solutionsFamiliarity with sensors and cables, including photo-eyes, prox switches, and time of flight sensorsProficiency in the Microsoft Suite, including OutlookAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lead mechanical design meetings and coordinate project handoffsExperience working with vendors and negotiating pricingAbility to visit customer sites and create concept drawings to support salesNon-repetitive job nature with 5-8 design projects per yearWork Environment
The position involves working on diverse design projects, with an estimated job distribution of 20% concept drawings for sales, 10% directing mechanical assembly, 10% onsite installation support, and 10% miscellaneous tasks. The work environment includes collaboration with various teams and vendors, and occasional visits to customer sites.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00
