Mechanical Engineer Job Number: 354676 Category: Mechanical Engineering Description: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Chillicothe, IL Zip Code: 61523 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: $35.86 / hr Schedule: 1st shift; M-F 8am-4:30pm Keywords: #MechanicalEngineer #EngineeringJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. * Ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints. * Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices. * Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. * Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew. * Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software. * Planning and documentation of laboratory based testing and validation * Setup and Execution of laboratory based testing * Data analysis and documentation of results * Inspection and documentation of Devices Under Tests (DUTs) * Collaboration with peer organizations such as component and system design, component controls, component virtual product development, and others. * Collaboration with laboratory support teams such as skilled trades, facility design, and facility controls. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree * 2-4 years related experience * Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. * Team player and detail oriented. * Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. * Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
