Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled Mechanical Engineers to join our team in the analysis and redesign of aluminum chassis components. The role involves working within a regulated avionics environment to assess the impact of vendor non-conformances on complex cast aluminum parts. The engineer will review measurement data, compare it against models and drawing requirements, and determine any impacts to the part's Form, Fit, or Function. This position requires implementing design and drawing updates and reviewing vendor changes associated with those updates.
ResponsibilitiesConduct technical analysis with an emphasis on mechanical engineering.Read and interpret prints per Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDT) standards.Analyze investment castings measurement data to determine deviations from mechanical models.Ensure compliance with quality management system guidelines.Coordinate assignments and activities with the Project Engineer.Perform technical reviews of sub-tier supplier hardware in accordance with engineering requirements.Present project status and progress in team meetings.Conduct tolerance analysis.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent STEM degree with applicable experience.Minimum of 6 years of engineering design experience.Advanced skills in mechanical drawing GD&T.Experience with tightly toleranced investment castings.Proficiency in working within a quality-controlled environment.Advanced tolerance analysis skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Materials Review Board (evaluation of nonconforming castings).Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Experience with sheet metal and project management.Expertise in fit, form, and function analysis.Supplier quality management experience.Work Environment
The work environment is a regulated avionics quality and configuration management setting. The role involves working with advanced mechanical engineering tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Regular team meetings and presentations will be part of the job. The position requires adherence to a quality management system and close collaboration with project engineers and suppliers.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
