Job Description
Our Mechanical Engineers research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting-edge products and services. These cover a wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems, with technical duties including the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
ResponsibilitiesResearch, design, and develop mechanical products and systems.Test and certify mechanical designs for performance and safety.Deploy and improve advanced mechanical products and services.Work on a variety of projects ranging from advanced mission payloads to space exploration systems.Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems.Design and develop new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.Essential SkillsPractical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred).Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.Strong CATIA experience or experience with programs such as Solidworks, CREO, NX.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft.Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis.Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.Work Environment
You will be part of a Mechanical Engineering Team consisting of 12 people. The role requires frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs. You may occasionally lift or carry up to 20 lbs. The work environment rarely exposes you to outdoor elements, fumes, hazardous chemicals, or loud noises. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting programs, supporting missions such as the modification of Bombardier Challenger 650s for the Finnish Border Guard and the development of the next-gen surveillance aircraft for the Army.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.51 - $59.10/hr.
