Mechanical Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Top Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * **The Opportunity:** We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and fabrication of components and systems within our organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with engineering and fabrication teams to create, test, and refine mechanical solutions for various applications. **Responsibilities:** + Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and other CAD software.\ + Utilize additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques to fabricate prototype and production parts. + Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and fabricators to refine designs and improve manufacturability. + Conduct design analysis, feasibility studies, and materials selection to ensure optimal performance. + Support reverse engineering efforts and assist in the development of manufacturing processes. + Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions. + Assist in materials analysis and testing to ensure compliance with performance and durability requirements. + Utilize CT scanning (preferred) and other non-destructive testing methods to analyze internal structures and evaluate component integrity **Qualifications:** **Required:** + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. + Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with CAD-based mechanical design. + Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) and subtractive manufacturing (CNC machining, milling, etc.) + Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. **Desired:** + Knowledge of CT scanning (preferred) and other non-destructive testing methods used to analyze internal structures and evaluate component integrity Knowledge of materials analysis techniques and failure analysis methods. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and precision machining principles. + Experience with composite materials, injection molding, or advanced manufacturing techniques. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available.
