Mechanical Engineer (CooP)
Join JRC’s Systems Engineering & Integration Team! This Mechanical Engineer Co-oP position will have primary responsibility in providing engineering and program support to the Systems Engineering and Integration Division of JRC supporting Navy Strategic Systems Programs.  This position will work closely with government program management leaders and technical subject matter experts supporting Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Technical Division and Shipyard Test Program efforts.   The Mechanical Engineer co-op will support Navy Strategic Systems Programs, working closely with program manager and engineers on planning, requirements, design, test and evaluation, engineering, continuous process improvement, program management, and lifecycle of the SWS.  The Mechanical Engineer co-op will be the liaison between Strategic System Program (SSP) leadership, branches, and contractors on technical and programmatic matters related to the development, execution, and test of the SWS.   As a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op, you will... Format specifications, directives, and correspondence in accordance with Navy manual Develop and review documentation, requirements, and supporting material for technical accuracy and impact on the test program Review Test Procedures, Change Proposals, Trouble/Discrepancy Reports, and other documentation to report Support high-level coordination efforts between technical division branch heads/SESs, compiling program updates and reporting materials as needed on behalf of SSP’s Technical Division Director Assist in creating, reviewing, and editing Ordnance Documents (ODs), Strategic Systems Programs Instructions (SSPINSTs), meeting minutes, memorandums, formal letters, technical documents, program briefings, and other documentation Support government on-site weekly division meetings, including drafting and editing presentations and providing status updates to the technical staff and branches Perform a technical analysis of schedules   What you bring to the table… Currently enrolled at a college or university and pursuing a BS/MS in Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited institution Must possess 0-2 years of related professional experience Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills Engineering knowledge Technical writing and documentation High quality in communication and presentation development Must have ability to obtain government security clearance at the SECRET level Demonstrates a willingness to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks
