Develop system concepts and prototypes from military requirements that address MSISRP and CCCRP technology gaps. Work with a cross-functional team to develop specifications, fabricate prototypes, and transition medical device prototypes into manufactured components. Create/review/modify technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, CATIA, Creo, and Siemens NX). Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components. Generate working prototypes using developed manufacturing processes to include 3D printing, laser cutting and computer numerical control (CNC) milling for beta testing and customer demonstrations. Identify system components or modify products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Identify required performance metrics in accordance with project specifications for developed prototypes. Develop standardized testing platforms for evaluating finished-prototypes and products to determine if performance meets project specifications. Assist with benchtop and animal laboratory work in support of ongoing CRT6 research projects. Contribute to at least two publishable research findings in the form of abstracts/papers/presentations/posters each year. Present findings at lectures, seminars, and scientific conferences.
