We’re looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with structural, thermal, and electrical design experience to join our High Voltage Charging and Distribution team. As a High-Voltage Harness Mechanical Engineer you will develop state-of-the-art high-voltage harnesses and distribution systems for electric vehicles, investigate challenges with high-voltage distribution components such as charge ports & cable harnesses, and implement innovative solutions. Role:
· Take ownership of high voltage harness design, HV connector design, and related components for next-generation vehicle platforms from concept to production
· Exhibit a flair for creative problem-solving and attention to detail
· Demonstrate technical excellence and apply engineering first-principles to new applications
· Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
· Optimize designs for size, weight, durability, and cost
· Create 3D CAD models and 2D GD&T controlled drawings of complex harnesses and assemblies
Qualifications:
· 2 years of relevant work experience
· Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
· Proficient with CATIA or similar CAD software (3DX experience highly beneficial)
· Experience with FEA using Ansys or similar software
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, etc
· Experience with root cause corrective action processes
· Well-developed team-working and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional environment
Preferred:
· Experience with automotive engineering
· Experience with power electronics
· Knowledge of harness and/or connector design for high-voltage environments
Education:
· BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering
