The Mechanical Engineer II – Value Engineering for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for being a major contributor to a high functioning worldwide engineering team tasked with improving quality, performance and cost of medical diagnostic instruments.
This position is part of Value Engineering located in Chaska, MN and will be an Onsite position. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Global Value Engineering Team and report to the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager who is responsible for projects related to new cost savings opportunities, including creating standard work for design standardization across all BEC products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Design components and subsystems
• Utilize cutting edge manufacturing methods
• Optimize processes
• Apply design change principles within an FDA regulated environment
• Conduct failure analysis of reliability test subassemblies and components.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical engineering and relevant experience, and 2+ years of relevant experienceProficiency in SolidWorks and Creo.Demonstrable knowledge and experience with mechanical designs using metals & plastic, manufacturing processes for injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, metal casting etc.Experience with engineering drawings, including tolerancing with G D& T, plus tolerance stack up and processes such as product change control, NPD, Root Cause AnalysisIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
