Job Summary:
Our chosen candidate will perform performance modeling and simulation analysis relevant to solid propellant rocket motor propulsion systems. This individual will work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to determine the feasibility of propulsion system concept designs. This position requires technical expertise in solid propellant rocket motor propulsion systems, proven product development experience with military systems and ability to successfully work with other functional groups in a team environment to achieve business objectives. Success in this role will require sound technical judgment and innovative thinking.
Essential Job Functions:
· Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to generate preliminary design concepts compliant with customer requirements
· Lead and oversee comprehensive solid propellant rocket motor performance analysis, internal and external ballistic analysis
· Employ a suite of advanced analytical tools including Matlab, Mathcad, Missile DATCOM, NX, and additional software to conduct in-depth engineering analyses and simulations
· Apply scientific and engineering principles, theories, and concepts to understand, explain and defend physical conditions and results
· Coordinate with other team members to ensure customer requirements are understood and achieved
· Report status and results of analysis tasks at design and program reviews
· Prepare and present detailed written documentation and reports for complex technical and engineering concepts to diverse audiences, ensuring clear understanding
· Mentor junior team members in analytical techniques and methodologies
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering and three (3) Years of relevant experience in solid propellant rocket motor development
· Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (US Citizen)
· Strong technical background in propulsion system design, development, analysis and test
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Ability to travel to support internal and external stakeholders (approximately 20%)
· Experience with new business pursuit and capture
