About the role:As a Mechanical Engineer II you will work w/ teams of engineers for design, analysis, and evaluation of systems applying engineering principles and codes and standards, such as ASME and ANSI.
You will report to the Facilities Support Lead/Supervisory Engineer for OP Mechanical Systems. This position is hybrid at the discretion of the manager requiring 2-3 days/week on-site in Columbia, SC.
Responsibilities:Resolve technical issues for Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) supporting the capital and expense projects
Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers in the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems using engineering software
Apply engineering principles and engineering codes and standards like ASME and ANSI
Develop calculations and reports to document design and analysis results according to ASME Section VIII, IX, X code requirements, API, other international codes, and facility standards and specifications
Field walkdowns and construction oversight services
Factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and startup/commissioning services for equipment and systems
Procurement engineering and part optimization techniques to engineering projects
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on existing equipment
Communicate with engineers in other disciplines like electrical/I&C and civil/structural
Internal and external representation
Present technical materials, justify services and product designs
Occasionally assist with emergent issues and after-hours calls
Qualifications:2+ years of experience engineering design
Bachelors' degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Desire to work toward a professional engineering license or has passed the EIT/FE exam
Interpret NRC and OSHA standards and regulations
Familiarity with:
power industry, manufacturing, or chemical plant
ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3 criteria
