Mechanical Engineer Intern
ManTech seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support complex engineering activities related to acoustics systems, including the assembly, analysis, design, and testing of acoustic sensors, systems, and related equipment. Enjoy hands-on technical work and interaction with engineers and customers to ensure systems' successful deployment and performance in various environments. **Required Qualifications:** + Active DoD security clearance or able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship is required) + Current full-time student pursuing a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with a projected expected graduation date after May 2026 + Academic or professional experience with engineering concepts and CAD applications + Desire to work in an Acoustics Engineering environment supporting the US Navy + Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid format in Silverdale, WA **Desired Qualifications:** + Experience collaborating with engineers and technical staff + Experience researching,developing and installing products and systems in conformance with engineering designs and customer specifications + Experience conducting electronic equipment assembly, soldering, cable builds, and testing + Experience troubleshooting systems and performing computer operations related to the data acquisition systems + Experience operating and maintaining towed array systems, including installations and troubleshooting + Interest in reading and comprehending preventive maintenance documents and procedures to ensure proper system functionality **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time + Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs + Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs + Ability to crawl and maneuver in confined spaces, such as bilge areas or other tight spaces + Occasional waterfront support in an industrial warehouse or maritime environment + Occasional work in outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions, when performing field validations ManTech International Corporation, as well as its subsidiaries proactively fulfills its role as an equal opportunity employer.
