Organization & Role:
The Teradyne Mechanical Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Senior PCB Design Engineer to focus on the development of mechanical systems for products within the division. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging multi-site development environment.
Education and Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in PCB layout and automated test.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCad, and Cadence Allegro Cad tools.
- Uses Cadence Allegro Cad tools extensively (Allegro 17.2 and Orcad Capture).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create Schematics based on customer defined specifications.
- Create Component Logical Symbols and Footprints
- Sets up constraint manager design rules and DFM rules.
- Perform routing assessment and project feasibility studies.
- Define assembly specifications.
- Create assembly test packages.
- Does complete PCB design from Data entry to Output of fabrication files.
- Generate cost estimate on project for Marketing quotation.
- Attends product development and critical kick off meetings for initial product launch.
- Use Teamcenter to generate part numbers, BOM’s, and ECN’s.
- Perform QA inspection on final designs for completeness and quality.
- Some travel may be needed for training, off site meetings, or product validation.
- Work closely with DFT engineers to resolve test access issues.
- Work closely with DFA engineers to resolve any assembly issues prior to or during build.
- Work closely with DFM engineers to recognize and resolve PCB fabrication processes.
- Create Interface board CAD templates for customer use.
- All other related duties as assigned by management.
