Mechanical Engineer V

As a mechanical designer in the Applied Materials Photonics Platform Business, you will be working on highly technical and challenging experimental prototypes, evaluation kits, and reference designs to support advanced near eye display modules.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical design of smart glasses frames for prototypesMechanical design and integration of components for smart glasses, such as ophthalmic lenses, light engines, and electronic components.Support the other internal teams with mechanical and optomechanical engineering services

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalentExperience in HW development in all design phases of wearable consumer productProven competence in working cross-functionally to deliver cutting edge small form factor based solutions

Preferred Experience

Strong fundamental experience of mechanical design of smart glasses, and/or fixtures for smart glassesExperience in leading and contributing to technical cross-functional team design discussionsHands-on experience in mechanical CAD such as Solidworks or NXHands-on experience in prototype bring-upDevelopment of new technology solutions as well as influencing future product roadmaps while interfacing closely with key vendors and suppliers10 years minimum experience in mechanical design.
