About the business unit 


The Water Consultancy Division is the centre of excellence within Mott MacDonald for responding to water and wastewater challenges, providing support to colleagues across our global business, and offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. 
 
Climate change, aging assets, and population growth place increasing pressure on our water and wastewater assets. Our highly successful water consultancy business is servicing ever-increasing demands from water sector clients to help deliver ambitious capital programmes. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. 
 
With sustainability, social impacts, digitalisation, and carbon reduction in mind, our diverse and multi-disciplinary teams work together to provide a variety of services throughout the full project life-cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies, through outline and detailed design, to construction support and site supervision. 


Overview of role

 

Position Location: Cardiff, UK / Bristol, UK


You will work with a talented team of mechanical, electrical and ICA engineers to provide technical excellence, leadership and direction on a range of water projects. Typical duties and responsibilities will include:

 

Managing the MEICA design and integration with other disciplinesManaging and contributing to the preparation of design deliverables to achieve the correct time / cost / quality balance for the projectWorking with the resource manager to manage project resources and to grow and develop our capability through recruitment and trainingBusiness development including providing specialist support to our Account Leaders and Practices, and leading on proposals and tenders in the water and wastewater fieldsProgramme and financial management of small to medium sized projects with a MEICA bias

 

Candidate Specification


We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who can demonstrate the following attributes;

 

A background and working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment equipment including pumping systems, or similar experience in process & manufacturing industriesStrong communication skills to interact with other disciplines and clients, and to develop and promote the teamA capability to manage design delivery, and project manageA team leader capable of managing and motivating individuals to consistently deliveryWillingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networksA drive to be abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutionsWe are seeking chartered engineers or those who are working towards chartershipThe salary offered will be competitive relative to experience, skills and qualifications.
