**Job Overview:** APTIM is currently seeking a ­­­­­Mechanical Engineering Intern to work in our Knoxville office. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will perform a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. This is a **temporary** position. **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering. + Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. + Is aware of costs and schedule related to own work. + Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others. + Communicates information, asks questions and checks for understanding. + Contributes to a team environment **Basic Qualifications:** + In process of Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, + Has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in mechanical engineering. + Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and technical engineering software, some CADD experience (AutoCAD, REVIT and/or MicroStation) along with good verbal and writing skills. + FE and EIT candidates preferred. + Ability to work independently and in a diverse team setting + Willingness to work across Engineering disciplines + Strong multitasking skills + Strong problem-solving skills **ABOUT APTIM** APTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, building a sustainable future for our communities and natural world, and creating a more inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates the diversity of our communities.
