As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in the development of hardware products. You will be assigned an insightful mentor, who will guide you through your project and work term for a successful project experience. As an Intern, you will enjoy the unique opportunity to be exposed to many aspects of mechanical design in the product development cycle, potentially including conceptual design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing production.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
Learn professional techniques and perform tasks for one or more of these areas: mechanical design and analysis, heat transfer, or validation and verification of products. Work and interact with a wide variety of NI staff in R&D hardware and software organizations Perform research as required to complete your projects Diagnose and debug technical challengesWho You Are:
You are someone who works collaboratively in a group environment and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. You take initiative, can be resourceful, and can make progress on work independently. You take ownership of your goals, regularly check-in, and ask questions in a timely manner to ensure success of project and tasks.
For this Role, You Will Need:
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar STEM related field Sophomore or above standing Knowledge of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes such as heat transfer, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and electromechanical design. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the futurePreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
3D CAD software programs, preferably Creo Parametric Metal and plastic materials processing techniques and design for manufacturability Electronics manufacturing processes and equipment Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
