Mechanical Field Supervisor

Cleaver Brooks Sales and Service is looking for a Mechanical Field Supervisor to join our team in Houston, TX. The Mechanical Field Supervisor will report to the South Texas Operations Manager and is responsible for managing their direct reports as well as supporting field crews. At times, the Mechanical Field Supervisor may be responsible for supporting teams on multiple mid-range jobs across Texas. The Mechanical Field Supervisor coordinates all activities for the assigned jobs and ensures that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed schedule and budget. The Mechanical Field Supervisor will manage the risks associated with the jobs and ensure customer satisfaction during and after job completion.

Job Location: Houston, TX

Essential functions:

Attend client pre-bid meetings/walks, job site visits, and record verbal information disseminated by the clients. Assist in development of preliminary job schedule and scheduling field personnel. Assist sales team in identifying alternative execution approaches based on the scope of work and the most cost-effective execution methods available. Review job contracts and understand work scopes to immediately identify changes and additions to the scope of work during job execution. Provide daily job status reports to upper management and/or salesman. At times may be expected to conduct multiple job site visits to check on quality, production, and/or assist with training direct reports and field personnel. Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines. Display proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines. Display superior written and oral communication skills and employ effective listening skills. Maintain lines of communications between company departments and with client to set and maintain expectations regarding cost and schedule. Display tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel. Adhere to company policies. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

Education: Necessary technical skills will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

10+ years of experience with an emphasis on boiler projects. Experience in application and repair of boiler, steam and heat recovery process equipment Experience with fabrication, construction and field activities. Ability to read and comprehend comprehensive drawings and bills of material.

Physical Skill & Effort: 

Physical demands may require ability to endure frequent physical activity, work long days and handle outdoor elements including a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to access all parts of the boiler to examine boiler design and repair work, including climbing ladders, enter confined spaces and use proper PPE, including harnesses when over 6 feet off the ground.

Working Conditions and Hazards:  

Work will be a mix of office and field/site conditions. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions on site can be expected. Job specific safety training will commonly be required prior to new projects to identify risks and required mitigation steps.
