PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for shop/service track operations, heavy repairs, and responding to main line outages. The ideal candidate would have a strong mechanical and electrical repair background on locomotives

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Plan daily work schedules and manage employees performing locomotive maintenance Set expectations and accountability to employees while in shop or on service island Instruct mechanics in all phases of locomotive repairs, and inspect quality of work performed by all crafts Provide safety briefings and support to mechanics on safety guidelines Supervise and lead work force groups along with multiple projects simultaneously

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required Must be familiar with FRA Rules and Regulations and be able to prepare and accurately fill out all forms required for the operation of Diesel Locomotives Strong leadership and communication skills is an asset Strong understanding of LMS, MCS, ISM, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office programs
