Maintain excellent relationships with owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors and public Provide constructability input during project engineering where opportunity exists Ensure profitability, schedule adherence and customer satisfaction Assist with labour management, develop three-week look-ahead schedules to ensure project milestones are met and resources are optimally allocated Develop project master schedule with Project Manager or Construction Manager. Ensure progress follows this master schedule and identify needs and deficiencies in the schedule Steward to the project budget and develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy Plan and supervise the work on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and work schedules Assume responsibility for productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, project schedule and budget Accountable for ensuring that the completed work meets standards and for recommending work processes that will improve productivity and product quality Identify other training needs for the crew and facilitate the delivery of that training Responsible for facilitating a safe work culture and is accountable for the safety of the crew and must understand the legal liability of the role Responsible for ensuring crew members apply the standards for safe working conditions and are fit for work each day Conduct “safety tool box” meetings Know, understand, communicate and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and programs Recognize, address and resolve issues/problems among/between crews Collaborate with end-users in occupied buildings to ensure mechanical operations are conducted with minimal disruption to their daily activities Accountable for the preparation of reports as required by the employer Maintain Superintendent’s log or diary Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and discipline Perform other duties as requiredRequired Skills
