We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our NAF team in Freeport, TX.

Our team is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support our Freeport, TX site Utilities and Infrastructures units. 

As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will effectively provide technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, monitor Preventative Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance (PM/Pd.M.) programs, support the Mechanical Integrity inspection process to ensure timely repairs, troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment problems including proposing and implementing sustainable solutions/work processes. 
 

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you create chemistry by...

•    Provide technical support to maintenance Supervisor, specialist, and crafts on difficult equipment repair problems 
•    Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews 
•    Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems 
•    Participate in the Bad Actor Program and create action plans for improving reliability 
•    Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources 
•    Support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve Asset Effectiveness (Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc) 
•    Establish, monitor, and optimize Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Plans 
•    Develop disciplined and systematic equipment Maintenance strategy based upon business needs 
•    Provide input to Maintenance budget 
•    Evaluate new technologies 
•    Evaluate alternatives for equipment repair seeking cost and time advantages 
•    Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory and BASF standards. This includes (but not limited to): 
   o    Equipment selection/layout 
   o    Scope development 
   o    Existing capacity availability 
   o    Spare parts determination 
   o    Support with technical Bid analysis and bonus/malus reviews 
   o    Support installation, commissioning, and startup activities

If you have...

•    BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or another Technical Degree) 
•    Minimum 1+ years of experience working in either a chemical/petrochemical or refinery operation, working with; rotating and fixed equipment, centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design.
•    Knowledge of applicable industry codes and maintenance best practices
•    General knowledge of mechanical equipment design and understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment, such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design.
•    Broad-based, hands-on knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical equipment.
•    Experience with manufacturing reporting systems, specifically using SAP.
•    Demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
