The purpose of the Maintenance Mechanic Planner / Scheduler position is to effectively organize work
for the Maintenance mechanics to meet the maintenance needs of the Charleston Plant. The key
deliverable is effective job plans, part procurement, and work schedules to coordinate with production
schedules to produce and package product at the lowest cost in sufficient volumes to support the sales
that are required to achieve the pre-tax profit target(s) established for the business, consistent with
regulatory and Responsible Care directives. Value creation comes from application of sound business,
engineering and maintenance standards to meet strategic business goals through efficient and
effective management of capital and human resources.
Some of the things you will do:
• Ensure timely response to corrective actions stemming from incident investigations.
• Participate in regular area inspections to establish and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Identify and control risks to personnel, environment and company assets by prioritizing issues with respect to each of these factors.
• Expedite the repair of all plant equipment in a quality manner.
• Knowledgeable of hazards associated with chemicals handled and process systems that you have to maintain
• Use and maintain appropriate PPE.
• Assure compliance with all PSM, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate contract work as needed for equipment inspection and repairs.
• Generate and maintain annual outage schedule, including both Mechanical maintenance crew and contractors under your supervision
Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
• Chemical plant experience preferably maintenance related.
• Must have a mechanical craft expertise.
• Previous experience with contractor management
Skills
• Plan and work independently with little supervision.
• Software training (SAP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with other MS applications is also beneficial.
• Must be able to read and understand drawings (P&ID, Schematics, ISO, etc.)
• Good interpersonal skills.
